Wonder how an addon should be added to an RT3 installation, I downloaded
the statistics package, but this does not have any instructions…

any help would be welcome

Grab it from here
http://www.tzi.de/~hollow/Statistics3.tgz

make sure you have the pre-req’s in the readme file

extract the contents and move the Statistics folder to
/opt/rt3/share/html

add the following to your /opt/rt3/share/html/Elements/tab file
underneath the last letter.

			   Z => { title => 'Statistics',
                       path =>  'Statistics/index.html'
                     },
